About Jharkhand B.Ed / M.Ed / B.P.Ed Entrance Exam 2026

Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) has released the official notification for B.Ed, M.Ed and B.P.Ed Combined Entrance Competitive Examination 2026 for admission into teacher education courses in institutions located within Jharkhand state for the academic session 2026–2028. The entrance examination is conducted for admission to B.Ed, B.P.Ed and M.Ed programs offered by recognized colleges and universities across the state.

According to the notification, 85 percent of seats are reserved for candidates who have completed their qualifying degree from universities located in Jharkhand. The remaining 15 percent of seats are available for candidates from other states. Admission will be based on the merit obtained in the entrance examination, followed by seat allocation according to reservation policy and availability of seats.

The examination will be conducted in offline OMR-based format with multiple choice questions. The question paper will contain 100 questions carrying a total of 100 marks. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer. The paper will include sections such as Language Proficiency, Teaching Aptitude and Reasoning Ability.

Language Proficiency section will include 30 questions consisting of Hindi and English comprehension, grammar, vocabulary and idioms. Teaching Aptitude will contain 40 questions related to educational awareness, leadership qualities, emotional and social adjustment and general awareness related to education. The Reasoning Ability section will consist of 30 questions covering verbal and non-verbal reasoning, analogy, number series, letter series, logical problems and numerical ability.

In case two or more candidates obtain equal marks in the merit list, preference will be given to candidates holding NCC ‘C’ Certificate or NSS Certificate. If the tie still remains, the candidate with earlier date of birth will be given priority.

Candidates who wish to apply must complete the online application process through the official website of JCECEB. During registration candidates must upload required documents including passport size photograph, signature, left thumb impression, educational certificates, caste certificate (if applicable), disability certificate (if applicable), and Jharkhand local residence certificate if claiming state quota benefits.

After submitting the application form and payment of examination fee through online mode, candidates must keep a printout of the confirmation page for future reference. The board also provides an online correction facility from 26 March 2026 to 27 March 2026 for editing application details. No corrections will be allowed after the correction window closes.

The entrance examination will be conducted at various examination centers including Ranchi, Dhanbad, Jamshedpur, Bokaro, Dumka, Palamu, Hazaribag and Chaibasa. Candidates are advised to read the official notification carefully before applying online for the entrance examination.
