Powergrid Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Overview

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Maharatna Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, has released an official notification for the engagement of apprentices for the year 2026. The recruitment is conducted for ITI, Diploma, Graduate Engineering and other executive related training positions. A total of 188 apprentice training opportunities are available across multiple regional offices including Western Region-I (Nagpur), Western Region-II (Vadodara), Southern Region-II (Bengaluru) and Northern Region-I (Faridabad).

The apprenticeship engagement duration is one year. Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend depending on their qualification level. ITI apprentices will receive ₹13,500 per month, diploma apprentices will receive ₹15,000 per month and graduate or executive apprentices will receive ₹17,500 per month. In addition, apprentices who are not provided company accommodation may receive an additional allowance of ₹2,500 per month.

Candidates must register on the NAPS portal for ITI, HR, CSR and Rajbhasha posts or on the NATS portal for diploma and graduate engineering positions. After obtaining the enrollment number from the respective portal, applicants must visit the official POWERGRID website and apply through the apprentice engagement section. Applicants must ensure that their personal details such as name and date of birth match the details mentioned in the matriculation certificate.

Applicants are required to upload relevant documents including educational certificates, mark sheets, age proof, caste certificate if applicable, cancelled cheque or bank passbook and passport size photograph and signature. Candidates must also ensure that their bank account is Aadhaar seeded and enabled for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

The selection will be done through merit based screening followed by document verification and medical fitness. There will be no written examination and no interview for this apprenticeship recruitment process. Candidates must complete the application process before the closing date to be considered for the training opportunity.
